Our school of dance continues with the Fall session from September 6th – December 15th, with a winter recital December 16th & 17th. Additional cost for winter recital costumes.

Beginners Combo Class – An intro to pre-ballet and tap focuses on developing coordination and confidence and large motor skills, gaining flexibility and creative expression.

Beginners 1: Ages 3-4, Mondays, 4:00-4:30 p.m.

Beginners 2: Ages 4-5 Mondays, 4:45-5:15 p.m.

15 sessions, Resident $135, Non-Resident $160

Ballet – Dancers will develop their classical ballet skills through a series of classes progressing in difficulty as dancers develop mastery while monitoring their physical development. Focus will be on ballet positions and steps, along with flexibility and strength.

Ballet 1: Ages 6-8, Tuesday, 4:00-4:45 pm 15 sessions Cost: Res $150, Non-Res $180

Ballet 2: Ages 9-11, Tues & Thurs, 5:00-5:45 p.m. Ballet 3: Ages 12-up, Tues & Thurs, 6:00-6:45pm 30 sessions Cost: Res $300, Non-Res $360.

Jazz and Hip Hop Combo-Students will develop techniques in both styles, using Jazz with ballet principles and Hip Hop allowing dancers with freedom of movement while adding their own personalities.

Jazz/Hip Hop 1: Ages 6-8- Thursdays, 4:00-4:45 pm Jazz/Hip Hop 2: Ages 9-11 Tuesdays 7:00-7:15 p.m. Jazz/Hip Hop 3: ages 12 – up, Mondays 5:30-6:15 p.m.

15 sessions, Res $150, Non Res $180

Tap – A style of dance using special shoes to create different rhythms and sounds. Tap is great for developing musicality and coordination skills.

Tap 1: Ages 6-8, Wednesdays, 4:00-4:45 p.m. Tap 2: Wednesdays, 5:00-5:45 p.m. Tap 3: Ages 12-up Wednesdays, 6:00-6:45 p.m. 15 sessions Res $150, Non-Res $180

Modern / Contemporary- This style is an expressive form of dance. It incorporates a fusion of many dance styles. Dancers are encouraged to explore their emotions and movement through improvisation.

Modern/Contemporary 1: Ages 9-11, Mondays, 6:30-7:15 p.m. Modern/contemporary 2: Ages 12-up, Mondays 7:30- 8:15 p.m. 15 Sessions Cost: Res $150, Non-Res $180

Marengo Park District Clothing Guidelines for Dance

Students are responsible for providing their own dance clothing.

Clothing should follow the guidelines listed.
Good sources of clothing for a reasonable cost
Are Walmart, Target and Amazon.

– Pink ballet shoes, pink tights and a black leotard.
– Black ballet shoes, black tights or running pants, white T-shirt
tucked in.
– Combo Ballet/ Tap just change their shoes.

– Black tap shoes (no heels please), black tights and black leotard
– Black tap shoes (no heels please), black tights or running pants
and a black T-shirt tucked in.

Jazz and Hip Hop Combo
– Black jazz shoes, black tights and a black leotard.
– Black jazz shoes, black tights and a black leotard.

Modern/ Contemporary
– Black leotard and black tights
– Black tights or running pants and a black T-shirt tucked in.

Recital Costumes
– Price will vary but will be in the range of $40-$50
