Beginners Combo Class

An introduction to pre-ballet and tap. Students will develop coordination and confidence as they develop
large motor skills, gain flexibility, learn basic ballet and tap steps and express themselves through
creative movement. 15 Sessions each.
Ages 2-3: Mondays, 4:00-4:30 pm
Ages 4-5: Mondays, 4:45-5:15 pm
Beginners Combo Cost: Resident $135, Non Resident- $160
An introduction to Ballet. This class will focus on placement, strength, coordination, flexibility and grace.
Students will learn basic ballet steps, stretching, and movements across the floor.
Ages 4-6: Mondays, 5:30-6:15 pm, 15 sessions.
Pre-Ballet Cost: Resident $135, Non Resident- $160


Dancers will develop their classical ballet skills through a series of classes. These classes will progress
in difficulty as dancers develop mastery, while keeping track of their physical development as children.
Focus will be on ballet positions and steps, along with flexibility and strength.
Ballet 1: Ages 6-8, Tuesdays, 4:00-4:45 pm, 16 sessions
Ballet 1 Cost: Resident $160, Non Res-$190
Ballet 2: Ages 9-11, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:00-5:45 pm, 32 sessions
Ballet 3: Ages 12-Up, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:00-6:45 pm, 32 session
Ballet 2 & 3 Cost: Resident $300, Non Resident-$360


A style of dance using special shoes to create different rhythms and sounds. Tap is great for developing
musicality and coordination skills. 15 sessions each.
Tap 1: Ages 6-8, Wednesdays, 4:00-4:45 pm
Tap 2: Ages 9-11, Wednesdays, 5:00-5:45 pm
Tap 3: Ages 12-Up, Wednesdays, 6:00-6:45 pm
Tap Levels 1-3 Cost: Resident $150; Non Resident-$180

Jazz & Hip Hop

Students will develop techniques in both styles, using Jazz with ballet principles and Hip Hop which
allows dancers to perform with freedom of movement and add their own personalities.
Jazz and Hip Hop 1: Ages 6-8. Thursdays, 4:00-4:45 pm, 16 sessions
Jazz and Hip Hop 2: Ages 9-11.Tuesdays, 7:00-7:45 pm, 16 sessions
Jazz and Hip Hop 1 & 2 Cost: Resident-$160, Non Resident- $180
Jazz and Hip Hop 3: Ages 12-Up. Wednesdays, 7:00-7:45 pm, 15 sessions
Jazz and Hip Hop 3 Cost: Resident-$150, Non Resident-$180


This style is an expressive form of dance. It incorporates a fusion of many dance styles. Dancers are
encouraged to explore their emotions and movement through improvisation. Ballet and Jazz are dance
forms used to enhance the quality of this movement.
Modern/ Contemporary 1: Ages 9-11, Mondays, 6:30-7:15 pm,15 sessions
Modern/ Contemporary 2: Ages 12-Up, Mondays, 7:30-8:15 pm, 15 sessions
Modern/Contemporary 1⁄2 Cost: Resident- $150, Non Resident- $180

Marengo Park District Clothing Guidelines for Dance

Students are responsible for providing their own dance clothing.

Clothing should follow the guidelines listed.
Good sources of clothing for a reasonable cost
Are Walmart, Target and Amazon.

– Pink ballet shoes, pink tights and a black leotard.
– Black ballet shoes, black tights or running pants, white T-shirt
tucked in.
– Combo Ballet/ Tap just change their shoes.

– Black tap shoes (no heels please), black tights and black leotard
– Black tap shoes (no heels please), black tights or running pants
and a black T-shirt tucked in.

Jazz and Hip Hop Combo
– Black jazz shoes, black tights and a black leotard.
– Black jazz shoes, black tights and a black leotard.

Modern/ Contemporary
– Black leotard and black tights
– Black tights or running pants and a black T-shirt tucked in.

Recital Costumes
– Price will vary but will be in the range of $40-$50
